Every dwarf looks out for his fellow dwarves. This begins with their closest blood family and extends throughout the clan, and from there onto the other clans that make up whichever mighty dwarven kingdom they come from.
These dwarven kingdoms are usually comprised of a large subterranean city-state and one or more mining resources, such as ore-veins and crystalline deposits. In most cases these kingdoms are governed by a patriarchal monarchy, always by a dwarven king and usually by one of not only great lineage, but great deeds to go with it. This king utilizes his people, setting them to the tasks of honing their warrior skills, mining their precious metals, worshiping their dwarven deities, and crafting their marvelous works.
During the Age of Man, every dwarf endlessly raged war against the human empires of the time. Though they could slay many a human, in the long term dwarves could not replenish their numbers as quickly as the short lived, fast breeding humans.
